Making your own oat milk is easy, package free and costs 18p for almost 2 pints; all you need is a blender, an old t-shirt and some oats! Step by step instructions below:
1) Take one cup of organic oats from our refill area (18p) and four cups of water
2) blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds (too long will make your oat milk slimy)
3) strain through a clean old T-shirt, I like to pour the milk onto the T-shirt over a bowl then gather up the shirt and squeeze (see stories for an example)
4) strain again for an even better oat milk!
It’ll keep in the fridge for around 5 days.
Pictured here I made a plain milk, a chocolate drink by adding 2 dates, a tablespoon of cacao and a few drops of a vanilla. And golden milk made by including fresh turmeric & ginger, 2 dates and a pinch of black pepper.
